Pop Cans and Coffee Cups

Spencer has something of a little obsession with pop cans and coffee cups. Which is very funny to see but also makes you want to rip your hair out as he chases you around the house screaming at you to give him the cup that is in your hands. He will have a total meltdown, wig out, temper tantrum until he gets the can or cup from you and once he has it he's as happy as can be!  So now I have to put my coffee in a  regular mug just so he can have the paper cup to chew on and carry around. I thought I would try the other day to give him his own plastic cup to have instead but man oh man that made it even worst. He just threw the plastic cup on the floor and came after me trying to claw up my leg to get at the beautiful brown Tim Horton's cup.  He is a funny character and it's great to see his personality shine through more and more each day!

Busy Weekend at the Beach

We've been having some really great times at the Auntie Laura's cottage or as Jackson calls it Auntie Laura's old house but not the one at the beach he says.  The water and sand this year so far has been amazing; the water has been clear and warm and I have really enjoyed going and getting wet. Now that Jackson is more confident in his swimming abilities he's having a great time in the water too. It's nice that it's been shallow enough for him to enjoy.

Even Spencer is enjoying the beach, he doesn't care much to be in the water but loves to dig in the sand. He will head into the water once he's comfortable with the idea but would much rather play with the bucket and shovel.  We hung out on the sand bar as it was completely showing on Saturday which we all thought was a great novelty to being at the beach!

Pinecone Bird Feeders and Playdough

Yesterday was one of those days that was busy from the time your eyes opened until your head hit the pillow but did the kids have a ton of fun or what!

I decided to take the kids over to OEYC for some play time! They love it there as there is so much for them to do and see! They also love interacting with other children other than the daycare kids.

So once we got there the place was a buzz with all the ECE students finishing up their assignments for their placements so that meant lots of extra activities and crafts going on!

Jackson came home with a pinecone bird feeder along with helping make playdough and helping plant sunflowers and pumpkins. He also was in his glory as he got to water the garden and he loves watering the garden!

He's also super excited that he can go and check on the garden every time he goes to the center and see how his pumpkins and sunflowers are growing!

Scooters Away!

Today I decided to head over to GL Armstrong for playgroup and family tunes! Jackson decided if he was going to go he had to take his scooter! Well part of me was excited to see if he could accomplish such a task but the other part of me was oh no what am I getting myself into! Is he going to listen, is he going to get tried, is he going to hurt himself! Best way to find out the answers to these questions would be to let him go for it. SO I DID! Well was I ever surprised! He made it about 75% of the way there with no problems. He really was enjoying himself too! I just love seeing the confidence radiate from him when he's proud of himself for accomplishing such a great task as that!  There was no complaining or anything. Jackson is becoming such an independent little boy and part of me is happy but also sad at the same time. As it means he is growing up.

Here we Come!

Jackson can make me laugh and smile sometimes with the things he says!

Today we were on our way to Auntie Laura's and as we were pulling in the driveway of her house. Jackson yells from the backseat.

"Hey it's Auntie Laura's House! Auntie Laura's house here we come!

It was so funny and cute! Had me chuckling for the whole day!

Accident at the Library!

Today we decided to visit Ms. Lisa at the Early Years Center run out of G.L Armstrong. We unfortunately got there late so the kids didn't really get to play but we were able to join in for family tales and tunes. I was a little worried that Jackson would freak and not want to stay and sing but he actually quite enjoyed it. I think it helped that Evan was there so he had a friend to sit with.
Spencer loved listening to everyone sing as he crawled around visiting with everyone.

So I decided afterwards that I would take the kids over to the library to pick out some new books and to let Jackson get some play time in as he missed it over at the OEYC. We get into the library and I let him run ahead while I return some books and also grab a book for myself. I finally get to the back of the library to the kids section and low and behold what do I see but a bare bum that belongs to my son! Jackson has peed his pants and decided to take them off so he can continue to play on the computer! I rush over and ask what happened and he nonchalantly tells me he's peed his pants or in his words "me peed" Did he ever! There was a puddle on the carpet, his pants were just dripping wet and so were his shoes.Well because I was only running into the library for a quick minute, guess where my diaper bag was? You got it, in the car! Well poor Spencer is asleep in the car seat so I have to ask a nice mom who was playing with her son at the train table if she could keep on eye on my sleeping baby while I rush out to the car to get dry clothes for Jackson. So off I head out of the library but guess who wants to follow; JACKSON. He goes racing out of the library bare bum and all as we reach the door he beats me out of it and in doing so he jumps out right in front of a little old lady and her walker shocking and surprising her all at once! (I don't think she expected to see a half naked boy come barrelling out of the library on her trip down the street). I apologise for my son, head to the car and get some dry clothes and all is well. So back into the library we go for run two!
Ah the life of having a potty training toddler!

So here I am again apologizing for not writing. This is definitely something that needs to stop! I need to write on a more consistent basis and I will, this time no excuses. It must be done.

Let's see if I can get you caught up on what's going on with the boys.

Spencer is now 9 months old and I can't believe it. He's crawling and standing and moving around pretty good. He is such a funny little baby. I love every minute of the day I have with him, he makes me smile and laugh and really shows me what life as a mom is all about.

Jackson is 3 now, and we have our days in regards to listening and following instructions but for the most part he is a joy to be around. Just the things he says and does make me howl. I catch myself asking if he was 'born in a barn' because of some of the things he does. He is out of diapers now and it only took a year!

We've had a great couple of days with the weather being really warm. Friday we went to the park and played. Spencer got to sit on the grass for the first time which he didn't really care for so he kept to the blanket.

Saturday we heading to the University of Guelph's College Royale Open House. Always a good time there. Jackson got to operate on Curious George at the Teddy Bear Surgery. He also got to try his hand at juggling and play nerf gun wars which he had a blast at both.

Today he got to go see The Lorax with Daddy at the movie theater which he told me was a lot of fun. After that we enjoyed most of the day outside in the backyard. Jackson helped clean up all the leaves which he thought was great. He also got to go worm hunting, a very fun game for him to play.
