MOM, MAMA, MOM, MOM, MAMA

So this is how I am being referred to ever time Jackson wants my attention now! Which in the beginning when he first started doing it, I loved it, thought it was the cutest thing since sliced bread! I was finally happy for him to be saying mommy! Still loving it most days, but it does have it's moments when I just want to scream! Today was cute though, he kept running to his room and grabbing shoes and running back to me asking for my help to put them on! Holding the shoe in my face yelling mom, mama, mom, mama, mama; until I help putting it on! That's his new thing putting on everyone's shoes! It is so cute to see I love it!

Just a "poopy" Day!

Have you ever had those moments where you just want to get angry because something is so wrong but can't because it's just too funny!! Well I had a couple of those moments yesterday with young master Jackson that I just needed to share!

First thing in the morning after I finished feeding Jackson, I hop over the babygate to get my breakfast and does he not come running up to the gate with his diaper in hand! Yes he has learnt to take his own diaper off and he thought he would be helpful by running it over to Mommy to put in the garbage!

I was like ahhhhhh it doesn't have poo in it does it? Did you pee on the carpet? He shakes his head no, drops the diaper, trots back to the livingroom proudly and sits down on the floor to finish watching Imagination Movers.

I hop back over the gate survey the situation see that he has not peed on the floor and quickly get a new diaper on him.

Which if you know me well, you have heard the stories that putting a new diaper on Jackson is not an easy task, the child must be pinned down to get the new one on!

So no big deal situation under control off to work we go!

So we get home last night from work and I am trying to get dinner started, unpack from the day, change Jackson's bum etc etc!

So as I try to get him pinned down so I can make a smooth job of changing his bum does he not wiggle out of my grasp and within half a second has squatted on the living room floor and pooed!
Oh ya you're saying he didn't but yes he did! He left a soft, mushy, mustard coloured pile of poo on my living room floor before I even had a chance to realize what had happened! I kid you not it was that quick!

So as I am springing up off the floor, yelling Jackson what have you done and don't touch it. He proudly stands there pointing at it, giggling and talking jibberish. It was a great site to see, I couldn't decide whether I should scold him for doing it or just laugh because it really was funny to see him dancing around this wonderful gift he was so happy to have left me! So I just laughed, told him not to touch it as I quickly got him changed and into his highchair for dinner so I could get it cleaned up before dinner!

The irony of the whole thing was that he did it about 2 feet away from his potty chair and when I did point out that poo goes in the potty and not on mommy's floor, he then proceeded over to the potty, lifted the lid, sat down. screamed in joy, hopped off and pointed at the poo on the floor and then at the potty! Which at this point all I could do was agree with him and say yes the wonderful gift you left me was suppose to be left in the potty not the floor!!

POO GOES IN THE POTTY NOT ON THE FLOOR!

So that was the wonderful day I had yesterday!

Going to the Maltese Picnic

Don't you just love those days when your little one does something that just makes you smile and giggle! Today was one of those days! We were getting ready to go to the Maltese Picnic and we were trying to get Jackson into his carseat and all he wanted to do was climb in the front seat so I said that's fine go ahead daddy's not quite out of the house yet so off you go! Jackson climbs up into the driver's seat and starts touching all the buttons and knobs as usual and pretends to drive it's too cute it makes you smile, but that wasn't even the best part of it. The best part was when he reached over hit the button for the four way flashers and hears the tick tick tick sound it makes and starts dancing to it while he pretends to drive. Man was it ever the cutest thing I've ever seen!

Back From Vacation at the Cottage!

Ok so I started this blog for Jackson in hopes to write everyday about something Jackson did or said well we went away on vacation to Auntie Ann and Uncle Bob's cottage and I was unable to blog about the trip while away so I will try and give a quick run down on how things went this past week!
Jackson had a blast playing on the dock, riding on the boat, running around naked everywhere! I think he really enjoyed the experience of being up north! I know I enjoyed being with him!

Jackson playing in the Narrows! He enjoyed tossing rocks in the water!

Swimming in the pool on the dock!

Family picture on the boat!

A little about Jackson

I figured you needed to know a little bit about the little boy I am going to be writing about everyday so here is some info for you.

Besides being extremely ill for the first 5 months of my pregnancy and being kicked every minute of everyday by the baby who has not stopped running since, I had a pretty uneventful pregnancy. As for labour besides being sunny side up, labour was what I had prepared for more or less (again we do not have enough space or time to go through all that).

Jackson finally was born on December 9th, 5 days after the doctor's due date and a day before the due date I had decided he was coming on. Besides the little hiccup of being released on Thursday and being readmitted on Friday because my milk had not come in yet and the poor little boy was a little dehydrated, he was perfect in every way but what mom is going to say different.

The first couple of months went by in a whirlwind of excitement. We went to Mother Goose classes, exercise classes, baby massage and play groups. So I kept him and myself very busy which was great and got him out and socialized!

From day one he has been an on demand breastfed baby, yes it is a little exhausting at times but so worth it and yes at 18 months he is still breastfed and will be until he decides to stop. Mommy is way to weak of a person to do it for him!

Jackson has also been cloth diapered since about 7 months of age and would have been sooner if my husband had allowed it but he wanted nothing to do with it! I think he's warmed up to the idea of it now. He at least changes Jackson's bum for me!

Jackson co sleeps with us when needed and I try to wear him as much as he'll let me which is not much at all but I try.

Jackson rolled over at 3 months, army crawled by 5 months, crawled by 7 months, starting eating solid foods by 7 months, was standing on his own by 8 months and trying to walk at the same time but it wasn't until about 9 1/2-10 months he really started to walk or should I say run 100 percent! He also has learnt how to climb up almost everything. He started to say da da from very early on and now can say hi, daddy and ball. I have taught him sign language in which he knows milk, more, all done, all gone, water, thank you and we're working on please, yes and no. But for the most part he just screams at you until you figure out what he wants!

He's a happy loveable little boy with a personality all his own, he makes me laugh and smile and can warm me up if I've had a bad day. But he can also cause me so much grief at the same time, he is always on the go, into everything, loves to throw anything and everything he can get his hands on and loves to whine and cry if he doesn't get his own way! He'll fight you on diaper changes, fight to go in the stroller, fight to go in the car seat and the list goes on. But he's all mine and I love him more and more everyday and wouldn't change him for anything! He's my little monkey.

So let's get started on the stories and adventures of Jackson and his Mommy!

A little about Jackson's Mommy

So I thought I would start off by telling you a little about myself!

I am 32 years old and I am married to the love of my life, Roy! We met 11 years ago and have been married for 2 years. We've had our ups and downs with trying to get pregnant, unfourtunely we can conceive but I just can't stay pregnant! So after 2 miscarriages, a trip to the Dominican and lots of lemonada! 9 months later, a set of Fred Flinstone feet and a great waddle that I had aquired; Jackson was born December 9th after 36 hours of labour. He weighed 8lbs and was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.

From there we hit the ground running with whatever knowledge I had from helping my sister out with my nephew and with reading the book What to Expect in the First Year!

I could go on about all the fun stuff that's happened over the past 18 months and even could go into greater details about Jackson's birth and such but I don't think there's enough space or time to go over all that. Most of it I have written down for later, maybe one day I will add it to here but for now I think I'll just stick with the present!

So here goes!

So I finally did it!

I finally decided it was about time to enter the world of blogging and tell my story. Actually it's more the story of my son Jackson than it is about me. I want to use this space to talk about him and the things he does so that he has something to look back on and read about when he's older.

I am not a great writer by any means but just want a place to put my thoughts down, so here goes!
